A. Two Year Higher Secondary Course

The College has been conducting H.S. classes in Arts, Science and Commerce under A.H.S.E.C. in response to the public demand of the region. Admission to H.S. course is open to those who have passed H.S.L.C under A.H.S.E.C or equivalent examinations under other Boards/Councils recognized by A.H.S.E.C. Classes in each stream are held in two Sections-A & B. that run simultaneously. The total number of seats stream-wise, is as follows:
Science (Sec -A) 125
Science (Sec -B) 125
Arts (Sec -A) 150
Arts (Sec -B) 150
Commerce (Sec -A) 125
Commerce (Sec -B) 125

Subject combinations for H.S. classes

English and M.I.L./ Alternative English are compulsory for all the three streams. M.I.L. includes Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, Nepali and Bodo. For H.S. Science Stream (Section-A & B): English, M.I.L. / Alternative English and One of the following groups (including the optional Fourth subject)

(NOT APPLICABLE FOR CANDIDATES WITH COMPUTER SCIENCE AS A SUBJECT IN HSLC OR EQUIVALENT EXAM). Total no. of seats-30] For H.S. Arts Stream (Section-A): English, M.I.L. / Alternative English and any Four subjects (including the optional fourth one) from the following elective subjects:

For H.S. Arts Stream (Section-B)

English, M.I.L./ Alternative English and any Four subjects (including the optional fourth one) from the following elective subjects :

For H.S. Commerce (Section-A)

English, M.I.L./ Alternative English, Accountancy, Business Studies and any two subjects (including the optional Fourth subject) from the following elective subjects:

[Note: For offering CMST or Mathematics minimum 50% marks in G. Maths or Adv. Maths in HSLC or any equivalent Examination is a must.]

For H.S. Commerce (Section-B )

English, M.I.L./ Alternative English, Accountancy, Business Studies and any two subjects (including the optional Fourth subject) from the following elective subjects:
[ Note: For offering C.M.S.T or Mathematics minimum 50% marks in G. Maths or Adv. Maths in HSLC or any equivalent Examination is a must.]

Admission to H.S. Course is done on merit basis, i.e. on the basis of the total marks secured out of 600 in matriculation examination. Reservations will be as per Govt. rules. Decision of the Admission Committee regarding admissions is final. If for the last seat there are two or more candidates then, in case of Arts and Commerce the candidate having higher marks in English and in case of Science the candidate having higher marks in Mathematics will get preference. In addition to the three elective subjects from a stream a student may have the option to offer a fourth elective subject, preferably from the same stream. However, a student may offer the 4th elective subject from other stream also. It is desired that students of all streams shall choose their elective subjects keeping in view their future courses of higher studies in general and other professional courses.

HS 1ST YEAR ANNUAL EXAMS ARE HELD AS PER AHSEC NORMS.STUDENTS FAILING IN THE SAME WILL NOT BE PROMOTED TO THE 2ND YEAR CLASS.
