The college was conferred Autonomous Status by UGC videitsofficialletter No.F. 2-10/2023(AC-Policy) dated 27th May 2025 for a period of 05 years from the academic year 2025-2026 to 2029-2030. Being a public authorityas defined in Section 2(h) of Right to Information Act, 2005, and in pursuance of the provisions of Section 4(1)(b) of the act hereby makes available the information about the college through its website (darrangcollege.ac.in)

RTI Cell

Darrang College constituted anRTI (Right to Information) Cell is to facilitate the implementation of the RTI Act, 2005, by acting as a nodal point for all RTI-related matters within a specific organization or department. It ensures transparency and accountability by managing and processing RTI requests, appeals, and complaints.

Role of PIO: PIO is responsible for giving information to a person who seeks information under the RTI Act. The PIO shall scrutinise and provide required information to the queries received in the RTI. On receipt of an RTI application, the PIO shall scrutinise and registers the matter in the RTI log book and ensures the timely reply of the RTI queries.

Role of Appellate Authority: The Appellate Authority of the RTI Cell of Darrang College is the principal who receivesappeals, directly or indirectly through the PIO as required under the RTI Act and ensures timely response of the RTI through the PIO.
